The Dolmus literally means “filled up” and is a large cab or a station wagon that travels a certain route. There are dolmus stations where you can just take a seat on a Dolmus that travels your desired route. The cost is dependent upon the distance that you travel and you can board and alight whenever you want by just informing the driver. It is a very practical way of travelling and is much cheaper than a taxi.
Taxis are numerous all over Turkey and are yellow in colour and display lighted taxi signs on their roofs. The taxis are metered and have two rates depending on the time of day. After midnight until morning (06.00) it will cost 50% more than the daytime fare.
Weather
The climate of the province is typical Mediterranean: hot and dry in summers and temperate and rainy in winters. Sunshine is guaranteed from April to October and the winters are pleasantly mild. The humidity is a little bit high, about 64%, and the average water temperature is 21.5 °C. The summer season is fantastic in Antalya and lasts between 8-9 months. |
