Hadrian’s Gate is an ornamental marble arch constructed in the 2nd century BC by the Romans n honour of the emperor Hadrian.Another site to see is the fluted minaret (Yivli Minare) of the 13th century which was built by the Seljuks.It is decorated with dark blue and turquoise tiles and it was this minaret which eventually became the symbol of the city. |
